The selfPV systems include either 2 or 4 solar panels that together generate approximately 1,100 - 2,200 kWh of green electricity annually. This corresponds to an output of 600 - 1,200 W and a saving of up to R3,000 - R6,000 per year assuming an electricity cost of R2.80/kWh. So what are you waiting for? The selfPV complete package can be mounted on any common metal roof, so you can have the solar power directed to your house, carport, cottage or garden shed and consume it there directly. When you are not at home the electricity is primarily used for stand-by devices such as the fridge, geyser, internet router, electric fence or pool.

    selfPV Duo:
2x solar panels, 1,100 kWh of green energy per year, up to R3,000 savings per year
    selfPV Quad:
4x solar panels, 2,200 kWh of green energy per year, up to R6,000 savings per year
Generating your own solar power couldn't be easier than with the selfPV solar system for any metal roof. It is easy to install and every bit of solar power is sent directly into your 3-pin power socket.

    Mounting the selfPV solar kit

Before you can use your self-produced electricity the selfPV Duo or selfPV Quad kit must be mounted on your trapezoidal sheet metal roof. Everything you need for this is included in the kit so you can easily perform the installation yourself using conventional tools.
The mounting rails of the kit must first be attached to the sheet metal roof which should be at least 0.5 mm thick with the thin sheet metal screws. It is important that the rails are placed on the high narrow flute. Once the inverter is attached to one of the modules the solar panels can be attached to the rails using the provided clamps. Then you can plug the connector into the corresponding 3-pin wall socket et voilà - power will start flowing immediately.

Individual components of the selfPV package

The solar panels are the heart of the selfPV solar kit. With their cell structure design they not only impress with their aesthetic appearance but also achieve maximum performance in cloudy weather and diffuse light.
The lightweight rail system, which makes mounting on the trapezoidal sheet metal roof possible consists of rails, screws and cable ties.
We supply the a most efficient inverter for our selfPV solar systems. This micro inverter converts the solar power from the solar panels into usable alternating current (230V AC) and directs it via an electrical cable directly to a 3-pin plug socket.

We use only the highest quality components in our selfPV solar systems and these are regularly tested by us.

As easy as wiring a plug - no electrician required - Do it yourself

The electrical installation of your selfPV system is literally as easy as wiring a plug. After connecting the solar panels to the inverter all you need to do is to wire the supplied 3-pin plug to the electrical cable and to connect it to the inverter.
Plug it into the nearest 3-pin plug socket in a wall and you're ready to go. Turn on the plug and the power will start flowing.
Make sure to plug the inverter into the smart plug and the smart plug into the wall so that you can monitor your electricity production.

    Safety

Safety is our #1 priority. Each solar inverter supplied with a selfPV system is manufactured in accordance to NRS 097-2-1:2017 Edition 2.1
This means that the inverter will only supply power when plugged into a live 3-pin wall socket and that if unplugged will not pose any risk of electrocution to the end user. The 3-pin plug connected to the micro inverter therefore is will pose no risk during installation or if it is unplugged at any time. Also during load shedding the inverter will not provide any power.
